ADVENTURE - Who says it can't be a middle name?

Updated: Mar 20, 2020

What is adventure? Of course it's something different to everyone, but after looking up the text book definition, no one would wipe the smile and excitement off of my face:

Noun:

· an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity

· daring and exciting activity calling for enterprise and enthusiasm

Verb:

· engage in hazardous and exciting activity, especially the exploration of unknown territory

I told you I’m excited, so how about you? What is your definition of adventure? Riding a roller coaster? Shopping at Walmart on Black Friday? For some it could even be the adrenaline rush you get during public speaking.

The point is, there are many different types of adventure, and it doesn’t always have to be life threatening. This blog was started to help anyone interested in following along on a world adventure that includes climbing mountains, trying local cuisine, attempting to learn new languages and basically doing one's best to get immersed in a new culture and hopefully not into too much trouble.

First stop: Russia - The North Caucasus Mountains and Moscow

My husband and I will be departing for Russia in a few weeks and attempting to summit Mt. Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe. This is our first huge climb, so I'm excited and terrified all at once. The training has been intense and actually pretty fun. The gear prep, well thank goodess I've got a logistics professional as my climbing partner.

I'll be posting more as we get closer to departing, so for now, share your definition of adventure and leave any questions in the comment section...
